Choose XAHI for end-feed installation

XAHI must be inserted from an open end of the profile and then slid along the slot. It cannot be inserted through the middle of the slot.

The spring ball presses against the inside of the slot and helps keep the nut at the selected position before tightening. This is especially useful when positioning a nut in a vertical profile.

Choose XAHJ for mid-slot installation

XAHJ can be added through the middle of a compatible slot. Insert the nut at an angle and roll it into place. The spring ball compresses during insertion and then provides temporary positioning inside the slot.

A bolt is not required to insert XAHJ. In a confined position, a bolt can be threaded one or two turns and used as an optional handling aid.

What the spring ball does

In both families, the spring ball provides temporary positioning while the external component and bolt are aligned. It helps prevent the nut from sliding freely before the bolt begins to engage.

The spring ball does not supply the final clamping force and does not provide thread locking. Final clamping is created by tightening the bolt in the completed assembly.

Do not substitute XAHI for XAHJ, or XAHJ for XAHI, based only on the thread size or the presence of a spring ball.
