T-Slot Fastener Comparison

Hammer Head T-Nuts vs Hammer Head T-Bolts: XAHC or XAIC?

Choose XAHC Hammer Head T-Nuts when the slot fastener should provide an internal thread for a separate bolt. Choose XAIC Hammer Head T-Bolts when a threaded stud should project out of the slot, pass through the external component and receive a separate flange nut.

XAIC provides the highest locking strength among the T-slot fastening options covered in this range. It is the preferred choice for heavy-load, cantilevered or vibration-exposed assemblies and permanent rigid connections. The stud faces outward and is secured with the flange nut outside the joint.

Both families can be installed through the slot after frame assembly. Their hammer-head geometry enters through the slot opening and rotates 90 degrees to engage inside the profile.

Choose XAHC for an internal thread in the slot

XAHC stays inside the profile slot and receives a separate bolt from the outside. Insert the nut with its narrow side aligned to the slot opening. The raised step and toothed surface face outward toward the opening.

A lightly engaged standard right-hand bolt can be used to drive the clockwise 90-degree rotation. The nut reaches its engaged position when the diagonal stop contacts the inner slot wall and the raised step appears crosswise through the slot opening.

Use the XAHC product table to select the exact GB or EU profile row, slot opening, internal thread, dimensions, material and finish.

Choose XAIC when locking strength is the priority

XAIC combines the hammer head and an external threaded stud. Insert the hammer head through the slot opening, rotate it 90 degrees, position the external component over the outward-facing stud, then fit and tighten a separate flange nut.

XAIC provides the highest locking strength among the T-slot fastening options covered in this range. Choose it for heavy-load, cantilevered or vibration-exposed assemblies and permanent rigid connections.

The threaded length must suit the external component and the complete fastening arrangement. Select the profile series, slot opening, metric thread, listed length, dimensions, material and finish from the applicable XAIC product row.

Choose the fastening arrangement before the thread size

With XAHC, the removable bolt approaches the slot from outside and threads into the nut inside the profile. With XAIC, the T-bolt's threaded stud projects from the slot and the removable flange nut is tightened from outside.

Check access for the bolt head or flange nut, the external component's hole, the component thickness and the complete hardware stack before selecting a thread or bolt length.

Match the exact product row

For XAIC, select an available threaded length from the applicable profile-series row. A thread designation alone does not establish the correct bolt length or complete assembly fit. For both families, match:

  • GB or EU profile system
  • Exact profile series
  • Slot opening and internal slot geometry
  • Metric thread and mating fastener
  • Dimensions shown for the selected row
  • Material, finish and joint layout

Which one should you order?

  • Choose XAHC when the joint is designed for a separate bolt to thread into a nut inside the profile slot.
  • Choose XAIC when higher locking strength is required for a heavy-load, cantilevered, vibration-exposed or permanent rigid connection.
  • XAIC requires a separate flange nut.
  • Choose the exact product row only after the profile geometry, thread and complete mating-hardware arrangement have been checked.
